  1. Knack for correct design: To be in the Interior designing sector you should have apt knowledge about the color, design, etc. Because this skill is only important when you will design any office, house or anything to a interior designer should have knack for correct design. 
  2. Communication skills: In order to become a successful interior designer you have to have a good knowledge but also good communication skill also. In order to stand in the market you don't only need technical skill but communication skill also as if you are not able to communicate with your client you may loose the project so in order to withstand the competition you need to have a good communication skill. 
  3. Keeping up with the trends: Interior designing is has emerged as a competitive business. If you don't keep up with the trend you may loose projects. Because keeping yourself updated and adapt the changes only will bring success. So it is necessary to keep up with the trend and keep discussing with your mentor.  
  4. Detailed Information: You should have detailed information about all the things required to be known by interior designer as it will help in handling any kind of project.
               

It really does not depend what interior designing and decor gives you but it really depend on what you are best at because success depend on the skill you have. So if you have a creative mind and apt knowledge about trends, color or designing than interior designing and decor is a correct choice for you.
